"This lighting fixture design competition, which centers on natural stone, may at first glance resemble a mass-produced industrial fixture. However, due to the nature of natural stone, each fixture will inherently be unique. I believe this will be the most distinctive feature of the products to emerge from this competition. It is quite exciting to work with a design that is repetitive yet never identical. Moreover, considering the effect light has on each material, in this context, light will interact closely both with the natural stone itself and with the environment in which it is placed. This interplay can bring about a wide variety of rich experiences—both in the object itself and in the relationship it establishes with its surroundings. I eagerly await the designers' approaches."
